Metfield Stores is a veritable Aladdin’s Cave of goods and products, from everyday essentials to fine foods and treats to suit all pockets and tastes. Many items are sourced, where possible, from local suppliers, and Sue (our Manager) will always do her best to accommodate your special requests – just drop her a line to ask.
Daily Newspapers and Magazines
Order your papers in advance to ensure what you want is waiting for you, or come in and browse the selection of newspapers, magazines or books from local authors. We accept newspaper tokens from the major broadsheets and redtops. We also stock a wide range of greetings cards and postcards, many from local artists.
Everyday Essentials
We defy you not to find what you are looking for in our Aladdin’s Cave! Stock your pantry, grab a takeaway for lunch, or pick up ingredients you need for a hearty home cooked dinner. Choose from our fabulous range of baking products, herbs, spices, tinned foods, meat, dairy, fresh goods, frozen goods, teas, coffees, biscuits and other delicacies. Also select from our range of other household and cleaning items, including from our ethical cleaning range, pet food, shoe laces, paint brushes, a wide range of toiletries, kindling, logs, wine, cigarettes and much, much, more!
Baked Goods
Our freshly baked sausage rolls from Cleveleys are ever popular to locals, passing tradespeople and visitors alike. We have regular deliveries from local artisan bakeries including Olde Barn Bakery, Black Dog Deli, Stradbroke Bakery and more. You can order loaves on a regular or ad hoc basis to ensure we save what you need.
Fresh Fruit, Veg and Eggs
Select from a range of fresh fruit and veg to help make that special recipe or everyday meal and buy locally sourced eggs from Havensfield. Including lettuce, cucumber, vine tomatoes, garlic, ginger, local mushrooms, baking potatoes, courgettes, apples, lemons, grapes, oranges, bananas and avocados. All weighed on the scales so you can buy as much or as little as you need.
Wines, Beers and Spirits
We stock a wide range of wines, beers and spirits to suit your tastes and budgets. We support local producers where we can and have a good selection of local beers. We offer a 10% discount on bulk purchases (6 bottles or more). And we stock ice and lemons! We also stock organic wines and low alcohol or alcohol free beers and wines.
Deli and Dairy
We offer a wonderful range of items from milk (whole, semi, full) and alternatives (oat, soya, almond), yoghurt, kefir, crème fraiche, cream and cheese, including the award-winning local Baron Bigod from Fen Farm Dairy in Bungay. We cater for a range of tastes and dietary preferences, including plant butter, tofu, hummus, chorizo, smoked salmon, crab sticks and pate.
